vintage parure or set

  • Oh my! A beautiful set with necklace and clip-on earrings. Both of these items are in fantastic condition. They feature daisy flowers in pastel coloured rhinestones of green, pink, yellow lilac, white and blue with creamy white enamel leaves. The necklace is made up of one central piece connected by a hinge to two smaller sections that narrow towards the gold-tone metal chain. It has a hook fastener and large chain links which allow you to choose a length that suits you or what you are wearing. Looks really nice as a choker. Looks great with blue denim. The earrings match the necklace and feature one single flower and leaves. This set took my breath away when I first saw it. Would be a great set to wear for a bride. They are unsigned but the necklace has one of the less well recognised Jewelcraft tags (a ridged teardrop).  The back looks and feels like a Jewelcraft piece and shows very little wear where the sections hinge together, but the front is excellent. It was probably made in the 50s or 60s. Presented in a satin drawstring bag Necklace Length 440mm x width 30 mm x 7mm Earrings Length 30 mmx width 30mm Jewelcraft operated as the UK branch of Corocraft ( a major producer of costume jewellery in the United States).
  • A fantastic and delicate set - Jewelcraft turquoise glass and pearl necklace and earrings. Both of these items are in fantastic condition. The necklace features 3 segments on a gold coloured metal chain in turquoise coloured glass stones and small faux pearls. The central segment features a daisy type flower surrounded by smaller buds in glass and pearls with gold leaves. The two surrounding segments of the necklace are attached by jump rings and are made up of a small branch of leaves with a tiny pearl flower and smaller buds in turquoise glass stones and 3 pearls. These segments are repeated in the two clip-on earrings making a lovely set. The set is very neat and would look lovely with a summer outfit. The necklace is signed Jewelcraft.  It was probably made in the 50s or 60s. I would describe the condition as very good with no missing stones. Presented in a satin drawstring bag Necklace Length 400mm x width 35 mm at its widest part. Earrings Length 30 mm x width 20mm Jewelcraft operated as the UK branch of Corocraft ( a major producer of costume jewellery in the United States).
  • Fantastic rainbow Millefiori and crystal necklace and bracelet set. A  very colourful necklace and bracelet made with gorgeous Millefiori beads and coloured glass crystal beads. It really is like wearing a rainbow that catches the light beautifully. Probably not vintage these beads are strung with coloured string and knotted between each bead. Both the necklace and bracelet fasten with a lobster claw clasp (indicating that they are made more recently). Wear this set with anything! It is delicious. Necklace measures 60 cms and necklace measures 22-30 cms (a chain allows adjustable lengths) and together they weigh 81 grammes. Presented in a satin drawstring bag.
  • Gorgeous demi parure Jewelcraft pearl bracelet and earring set. Both of these items are in very good vintage condition. They feature creamy faux pearls in gold tone settings with blue cold painted enamel leaves. The bracelet  is made up of 12 links. Each link contains 3 large pearls and 3 very tiny pearls with 4 delicate enamel leaves. It has a strong clasp with a very faint Jewelcraft stamp. The earrings match the bracelet and feature 4 large pearls, 2 tiny pearls a stalk and 3 delicate leaves. The earrings are stamped on the back of the clip and show no signs of wear. It is such a classy set. The bracelet has no wear on the front but does have some wear where the plating had rubbed off where the links join. They were probably made in the 50s or 60s. Presented in a satin drawstring bag Bracelet Length 9.2 cms x width 1.8 cm Earrings Length 2.5 cm x width 1.5cm Jewelcraft operated as the UK branch of Corocraft ( a major producer of costume jewellery in the United States).
  • This vintage cameo parure is on outstanding condition. The amber coloured glass in this Whiting and Davis cameo pendant, earrings, ring and brooch set is just beautiful and it is rare to get a full matching set in this condition. The gold tone metal surrounds are all in excellent condition. The cameos are created using molded glass with the lovely victorian style head of a woman in relief on the top of each piece - with a smooth back where the image shows through.  Because the glass has no back it allows the light to really penetrate the pieces and the depth of glow is stunning. Each glass cameo is surrounded by a simple rope style surround. I hope the photos have captured how beautiful this set is. It dates from the 1950s or 60s. The parure consists of the following:
    • a long heavy interlinked chain (76 cm) and a large pendant which falls at the breastbone measures 6 x 4.5  cm and weighs 15g
    • a pair of clip earrings measuring 3 x 2.3 cm and each earring weighs 7g
    • a ring uk size N (US size between 6 and 7) (U52), measuring 3.2 x 2.3 cm weighing 11g
    • a brooch measuring 5.4 x 4.2  cm and weighing 29g
All of the items are signed and necklace has a metal tag. This is an incredible opportunity for collectors to get a matching set. I think this set has hardly been worn. Founded in 1876 int the USA Davis and Whiting are known best for their production of mesh bags but they also produced jewellery. In the 1950s they began to produce Victorian style cameos. Presented in a satin drawstring bag.
  • Lovely vintage demi parure. This rice pearl necklace and bracelet set features three twisted strands of delicate white real rice pearls and gold beads. They both have a gold tone fishhook and filigree oval encasement. Both the necklace and the bracelet are in excellent vintage condition. This would be a fantastic bridal set gift. It is classy and delicate. The set weighs just 20 grams. The necklace measures 42 cm and the bracelet measures 9 cm(7.5 inches) when closed.   Presented in a satin drawstring bag.
  • This vintage rare Selro Selini jewellery is in outstanding condition. This signed SELINI cream Noh mask necklace and earrings set is very rare. Both the necklace and clip on earrings are signed - which is unusual because not many of the Selini or Selro pieces were signed. The necklace has two signatures - the clasp itself is signed SELINI and the back of the head on the clasp is signed SELRO. The earrings are signed SELINI. The Noh mask Okina (Hakushikijyo) originated in Japan and is of a male with a beard expressing wisdom. The Okina mask takes its origin from the traditional Genryu style of Noh play called "Dance of Monkeys". Some people mistakenly call it a demon face or demon mask. He has a lovely smile though so could not be mistaken for a demon;) The necklace features two strands of creamy 10mm lucite beads. One of the strands is slightly shorter. They come together is the fantastic Noh face clasp - which is intended to be shown at the side when worn. It is just one of the most beautiful pieces of plastic jewellery I have ever come across and considering it dates form the 1950s is in excellent vintage condition with only slight tarnish on the metal. The beads and string are in amazing clean and undamaged condition. The necklace is accompanied by a gorgeous set of clip on earrings featuring the cheeky Noh mask face in the same cream colour. Also in excellent vintage condition with very slight tarnish to the metal. This is an amazing and rare set. The necklace weighs 74 grams and the earrings each weigh 8 grams. The shortest necklace measures  60 cm and the earrings measure 1.8  cm wide and 2.4 com long.   Presented in a beautiful satin drawstring bag.   About SELRO and SELINI jewellery Although often used together the jewellrey is rarely from both SELRO (which was a company started in the US in the 1940s by Paul Selenger) and SELINI which was another company run by Selenger. Selenger was responsible for the design of Selenger/Selini pieces. Famous for the 'Many faces' of Selro - the jewellery featured Asian faces and this is what the company is most famous for. Much of Selro/Selini jewelry is unsigned and was originally hang-tagged. There are some clues, however, to identifying unmarked Selro/Selini jewelry. Much of what is sold as SELRO/SELINI is not actually produced by them. Signed pieces are very rare.
  • Lovely vintage demi parure. This vintage faux turquoise brooch and earring set is really versatile because the brooch can also be worn as a pendant. Set is gold plated metal the brooch features an oval faux turquoise cabochon surrounded by tiny faux seed pearls. Around the edge of the Victorian revival style oval brooch are 8 small faux turquoise stones. The back has a strong roll over clasp and a ring to use it as a pendant. The clip on earrings are a smaller version of the brooch with an oval faux turquoise cabochon with 4 small faux seed pearls in the surrounding setting. These are in very good vintage condition and have a real feeling of style and elegance. They probably date from the 1950s. All together they weigh 27 grams. The brooch measures 4 cm x 3.3 cm and the earrings measure 2 cm x 1.2 cm.   Presented in a beautiful satin drawstring bag.
  • Lovely signed vintage parure. This Sarah Coventry Inca Fire pendant, brooch and earrings set is in mint (possibly unworn) condition. Each item is signed SARAH or SARACOV with a Copyright symbol. It dates from the 1970s. The whole set weighs 32 grams. Presented in a beautiful satin drawstring bag. Despite the ‘designer’ name Sarah Coventry vintage costume jewellery is not made by one designer. Sarah Coventry was the name of a company based in the US (1949 – 1980s) who had emigrated from Coventry in England, UK. They employed different designers to produce their jewellery. They adopted a method similar to Avon in that they used house parties to sell their  ranges “for the woman who dares to be different.” Some pieces are made in Canada or the UK.
  • Very sparkly signed vintage parure. This Sarah Coventry allusion brooch and earrings set is in very good vintage condition. The set features a large 3D brooch and fairly large earrings in a pale gold tone metal with delicate pale AB aurora borealis rhinestones. The brooch features a large flower on a stem with two rows of open work metal petals. The centre of the flower is a cabochon of pastel shade AB rhinestones. The earrings are a smaller version of the flower without the stem. The overall effect is very light and airy despite the large size. They are also fairly light due to the open metal work style. There is a pink hue to the AB stones but this is difficult to capture in the photographs. Each item is signed SARAHCOV with a Copyright symbol. It dates from 1968. The whole set weighs 33 grams. The brooch measures 9 cm x 6cm at its widest point. The earrings measure 3 cm across. Presented in a beautiful satin drawstring bag. • This vintage rare Selro jewellery is in very good condition. This unsigned SELRO Asian princess bolo necklace and earrings demi-parure is a lovely example of genuine SELRO jewellery. Most Selini or Selro jewellery pieces were not signed. The gold coloured bolo style necklace has a herringbone style chain which passes through the back of the medallion making it adjustable in length. At the end of each chain is a plastic Thai princess head each with painted red lips, black eyes and eyebrows and gold painted hair. One of these heads has a bit of wear and has lost some paint which was very common with these pieces which date from the 1950s. The medallion is a Thai princess head set on a rounded square gold colour metal plaque. This head has a gold metal hat above the crown. Some of the eyebrow pain has worn off. Each ear has a separate gold hoop earring and at the bottom of the head is a white faux pearl. The chain is in excellent condition and there is a very strong hinged clasp. The matching earrings each feature the same head as the medallion and the paint is in really good condition. The hoops in the head's ears are much bigger on the earrings and add a real element of fun. They are clip-on and the backs are also in very good condition. This set is GENUINE SELRO. PLEASE NOTE - There are a lot of bogus claims about Selro jewellery so it is important to be aware of the ways to properly identify them. Kathie Davies has done some incredible research and has developed a website to help people correctly identify Selro jewellery and, more importantly, to identify fakes. We recently received some pieces of jewellery which were describes as SELRO but are actually not made by that company. They are still lovely items of jewellery but  at Kikulu we would not sell them with the wrong description as we care very much about our reputation. We will be listing those shortly as NOT SELRO. This is an amazing demi parure from the 1950s and should be enjoyed by SELRO collectors or simply because of the fun and the quality of the construction! The necklace weighs 58 grams. The necklace measures  44 cm but is adjustable.   The earrings weigh 10 grams each and measure 2.5 cm x 3.5 cm. Presented in a beautiful satin drawstring bag.   About SELRO and SELINI jewellery Although often used together the jewellery is rarely from both SELRO (which was a company started in the US in the 1940s by Paul Selenger) and SELINI which was another company run by Selenger. • Outstanding vintage art deco parure. This signed Czech delicate foiled glass necklace and earrings parure features gorgeous green coloured foil glass beads and cabochon, small clear green beads, all linked with brass chain links. The foil beads really shine from within and have a lovey vintage feel. The quality of the glass really makes this necklace the treasure that it is. The necklace has a central cabochon with three drops. The earrings have screw fittings with a clear rhinestone and a chain drop with a foiled capped glass bead. The necklace has a brass spring ring clasp which is still in good condition and the ring is stamped Czechoslovakia. Foiled glass was made in the Gablonz region from the end of the 19th Century by adding an inclusion of silver foil within the coloured glass. This necklace was a very popular design in the 1920s. This is in good vintage condition but many of the parts are extremely delicate and thin. This is not an everyday jewellery set but a very special occasion parure. Some of the metal (brass) is a bit tarnished, but this does not show when worn. The necklace weighs only 4  grams. It  measures 40 cm and sits very nicely around the neckline - the pendant hang is  5cm at it's longest.  The earrings measure 3.5 cm long. Presented in a beautiful satin drawstring bag.
