Intriguing Scandinavian vintage pendant dating from the 1960s. This Rolf and Soleig Haukaas enamel copper pendant from Norway features an organic butterfly design in a lovely teardrop shape in blue, brown, green and pink. Like all of their work it has an incredible shine due to the guilloche technique that they use. The guilloche technique involves etching the copper surface before enameling which gives their work a lovely depth. The back has the makers mark which is a backward S and R as well as the words HÅNDARBEID BALESTRAND NORGE. The chain is copper measuring 44 cm and has a strong spring ring clasp. The necklace hangs nicely around the neckline.
There is a tradition of excellent Modernist design work in enameled jewellery from Norway and Scandinavia.
The pendant and chain weighs 10 grams. It measures 3 by 3 (at it’s widest) cm. Presented in a beautiful satin drawstring bag.
