Beautiful Art deco vintage necklace from the 1930s. This Czech Neiger filigree emerald glass necklace is not signed but is one of the classic filigree Neiger brothers designs. This necklace has a brass strong spring ring clasp leading to four slim connector elements, a small single metal filigree bead, several connectors and gorgerous green emerald glass rondelle beads with small caps and three more filigree beads.
The necklace is in very good vintage condition with some slight wear to some of the metal filigree connectors. The metal is in great condition for its age. It hangs around the neckline really nicely. See the photos of our model Eve to see how delicate and beautiful this necklace looks when worn.
The necklace is light and weighs 20 grams. It measures 45 cm. Presented in a beautiful satin drawstring bag.
The most sought after jewellery produced in Gablonz was produced by the Neiger Brothers whose fine workmanship led the way for many of the Gurtler metalsmiths in Bohemia/ Czechoslovakia.
Max & Norbert Neiger were brothers who began making jewellery in 1900 and expanded to become world famous. They did not sign the jewellery and were copied a lot so many vintage sellers wrongly attribute designs to the Neigers. There are recognisable features of their work – not least the level of craftsmanship and quality of genuine Neiger pieces.
