Beautiful delicate vintage brooch probably dating from the late 1800s. This Victorian amethyst glass brooch is very finely made and is in fantastic condition. It could be Austrian as these design features are used in other signed Austrian brooches, but the glass is probably from Bohemia. The brooch features a central claw set 8mm amethyst glass stone surrounded by six slightly smaller round stones. Around the edge are six more very tiny claw set stones – all in sparkly amethyst glass. The design is such that only a very small part of the gold tone setting is showing – bt the effect is of a flower as the middle stones have a rope style circle surround.
This may be a small brooch but the quality is unmistakable,
The brooch has a sturdy c clasp pin is in fantastic condition for its age. The pin extends beyond the brooch which was common for brooches made in the Victorian era.
The brooch weighs just 4 grams. It measures 2.35 cm in diameter. Presented in a beautiful satin drawstring bag.
