Fantastic Scandinavian vintage brooch dating from the 1960s. This Rolf and Soleig Haukaas green enamel brooch from Norway features a beautiful organic design and like all of their work it has an incredible shine due to the guilloche technique that they use. The guilloche technique involves etching the copper surface before enameling which gives their work a lovely depth. This is a rounded rectangle shaped brooch. The back has the makers mark which is a backward S and R as well as the words HÅNDARBEID BALESTRAND NORGE.
There is a tradition of excellent Modernist design work in enameled jewellery from Norway and Scandinavia.
The brooch weighs just 11 grams. It measures 3.8 by 2.7 cm in diameter. Presented in a beautiful satin drawstring bag.
