Outstanding Scandinavian vintage brooch dating from the 1960s. This Rolf and Soleig Haukaas large enamel copper brooch from Norway features a beautiful organic design and like all of their work it has an incredible shine due to the guilloche technique that they use. The guilloche technique involves etching the copper surface before enameling which gives their work a lovely depth. This is a round shaped brooch with a red, bronze and gold pattern. The back has the makers mark which is a backward S and R as well as the words HÅNDARBEID BALESTRAND NORGE. The brooch pin is a secure ring safety catch.
This brooch is larger than some of the others we have had in stock and is a real statement piece.
There is a tradition of excellent Modernist design work in enameled jewellery from Norway and Scandinavia.
The brooch weighs23 grams. It measures 5.2 cm in diameter. Presented in a beautiful satin drawstring bag.
