Very good condition 1960s Sarah Coventry vine leaf pearl brooch. This is one of my favourite Sarah Coventry brooches featuring a vine leaf branch and a bunch of 7 pearl grapes. It is a well-made vintage brooch with brushed gold tone leaves.
Measures 5.5cm x 3cm at it’s widest. Fastens with a secure rollover safety clasp.
The brooch is signed on the back CANADA with a copyright symbol and the words sarahcov. This is quite a timeless design. Sarah Coventry jewellery is recognised as high quality and is very collectable. This brooch looks fantastic on a jacket lapel but is not heavy (it weights 12g) and would look equally lovely on a jumper or dress.
Presented in a satin drawstring bag
Despite the ‘designer’ name Sarah Coventry vintage costume jewellery is not made by one designer. Sarah Coventry was the name of a company based in the US (1949 – 1980s) who had emigrated from Coventry in England, UK. They employed different designers to produce their jewellery. They adopted a method similar to Avon in that they used house parties to sell their ranges “for the woman who dares to be different.”
