Excellent vintage condition 1962 Sarah Coventry Peta Lure brooch. This is a very delicate open goldtone floral design with 3 layers of flowers with tiny leaves.
Measures 4.5cm at it’s widest. Fastens with a secure rollover safety clasp.
The brooch is signed on the back GB with a copyright symbol and the words sarahcov. This is quite a timeless design. Sarah Coventry jewellery is recognised as high quality and is very collectable. This brooch looks fantastic on a jacket lapel but due to the open design is not heavy (it weights 13g) and would look equally lovely on a jumper or dress.
Presented in a satin drawstring bag
Despite the ‘designer’ name Sarah Coventry vintage costume jewellery is not made by one designer. Sarah Coventry was the name of a company based in the US (1949 – 1980s) who had emigrated from Coventry in England, UK. They employed different designers to produce their jewellery. They adopted a method similar to Avon in that they used house parties to sell their ranges “for the woman who dares to be different.”
