Very good condition 1960s Sarah Coventry gold tone loop brooch. Well-made vintage brooch with shiny and brushed gold tone loops.
Measures 7cm x 3cm. Fastens with a secure rollover safety clasp. It feels sturdy..
The brooch is signed on the back GB and a copyright symbol and the words sarahcov. This is quite a subtle modernist design. Sarah Coventry jewellery is recognised as high quality and is very collectable. This piece is not particularly rare.
Presented in a satin drawstring bag
Despite the ‘designer’ name Sarah Coventry vintage costume jewellery is not made by one designer. Sarah Coventry was the name of a company based in the US (1949 – 1980s) who had emigrated from Coventry in England, UK. They employed different designers to produce their jewellery. They adopted a method similar to Avon in that they used house parties to sell their ranges “for the woman who dares to be different.”
