Beautiful 1960s MODA of Malta copper brooch. Marked on the back “Handmade in Malta” This brooch matches a pendant in the same design stamped by MODA.
The brooch features a modernist design which is etched on to beaten copper. Moda jewellery was made in Malta by a designer who specialised in copper and stainless steel materials. I’m not sure what the design was called but it looks like it could be two birds or a heart – I get the feeling it is about love:) Moda copper jewellery is pretty rare and very stylish.
Measures 3.5cm x 5.5cm. Fastens with a secure rollover safety clasp. It feels very sturdy but is pretty light (only 13 grams). There are a few scratches on the fron and back but they don’t show when worn due to the beautiful shine and the beaten effect.
Presented in a satin drawstring bag.
