Green aurora borealis crescent moon brooch, probably dating from the 1950s. It is in a silver metal colour with a strong rolover clasp which has been soldered to the back of the brooch. The green Ab aurora borealis rhinestones were popular in the 50s and make this small brooch very sparkly and pretty. The rhinestones are made to appear claw set but they are glued into separate sections which are soldered together (‘swedged’ construction).
Measures 3cm x 3cm diameter. It would look great on a formal jacket but equally good with less formal wear and small enough to be worn on a jumper or dress. I would describe this piece as in reasonable condition as there is some tarnishing to the clasp.
Presented in a satin drawstring bag
