Kiku means chrysanthemum in Japanese. This beautiful washi paper features silver outlines of chrysanthemums on a plain black background. The pattern matches the silver metal setting perfectly. There is a matching pendant and brooch pins in this pattern.
Unique, handmade item using genuine Japanese washi paper which is traditionally made by hand from fibers from the inner bark of the gampi tree, the mitsumata shrub (Edgeworthia chrysantha), or the paper mulberry (kōzo) bush. The paper is covered with a glass cabochon which magnifies and protects the paper.

Love these earrings! So beautifully made, light and never make my (very sensitive) ears sore.
