Unusual handmade grey and purple fish beaded earrings. Made using amethyst and silver grey Delica beads. This pendant features a purple glass cabochon and shiny purple art card encased in a triangular bead bezel and attached to a beaded contorted square. These are attached to a smaller triangle beaded around a stainless steel stud earring with a butterfly back. The earrings look large but are very light, weighing only 7 g each. The silver-grey beads have a lovely sheen and enhance the purple perfectly.
Making jewellery from tiny seed beads takes a lot of time and patience. All the handmade beaded jewellery made by Lou McGill uses specialist beading thread or wire which is used on a beading needle to embroider beads of various sizes together or onto a backing. New stones and beads are always genuine Swarovski crystals and pearls, Japanese seed beads or Czech beads but she also re-uses stones, cabochons, crystals or beads from broken vintage jewellery. Recycling or upcycling old costume jewellery gives beautiful pieces or elements a new lease of life and a second opportunity to be worn and loved again.
Presented in a beautiful satin drawstring bag.
