Pretty blue snowflake beaded earrings. Made using white and aqua Japanese Miyuki seed beads with Swarovski bicone blue beads and pale blue Swarovski rivoli crystal. Each earring features one 14mm rivoli cyrstal encased in a seed bead bezel with 9 bicone beads surrounded by ‘petals’ of white seed beads. They look like flowers but the use of white and blue beads creates an icy snowflake feel. They are cool in many ways.
The earrings are attached to sterling silver fishhook earwires. These feel delicate and reflect the light brilliantly but are well made and sturdy.
Making jewellery from tiny seed beads takes a lot of time and patience. New stones and beads are always genuine Swarovski crystals and pearls, Japanese seed beads or Czech beads but she also re-uses stones, cabochons, crystals or beads from broken vintage jewellery. Recycling or upcycling old costume jewellery gives beautiful pieces or elements a new lease of life and a second opportunity to be worn and loved again.
