Gorgeous 1910s art nouveau Bohemian filigree necklace. This is a really lovely art nouveau necklace made with silver coloured metal and faux turquoise coloured glass. The chain is in a greek style and links to two small segments made up of a filigree base with an oval cabochon and lovely detail of a heart-shaped leaf. The main middle segment is a larger oval fluted filigree back with one oval cabochon, surrounded by 4 small round cabochons and four of the heart-shaped leaves. The heart-shaped leaves are what makes the necklace classic art nouveau style.
The clasp is a well-worn ring clasp (I would recommend replacing this). The chain shows some signs of wear but does not detract from the beautiful silver look of this necklace.
I’m not sure of the age of the necklace but think it is probably from the early 1900s – which means it is probably a Bohemian necklace rather than Czech. It is very delicate and unusual.
Necklace measures approx 45 cms and is very light weighing 24 grammes.
Presented in a satin drawstring bag.
